The story of the romance between the King of Siam (now Thailand) and the widowed British school teacher Anna Leonowens during the 1860s. Anna teaches the children and becomes romanced by the King. She convinces him that a man can be loved by just one woman.
In 1862, a young Englishwoman becomes royal tutor in Siam and befriends the King.
Taking up the position as teacher of the Royal children of Siam, Anna Leonowens finds that her most difficult pupil is the heir to the throne, Prince Chulalongkorn. By circumstance, it is left up to Anna's son to educate the wayward Prince and through this process both boys learn to accept each other in spite of their differences.
Anna and the King is a short-lived sitcom broadcast in the United States by CBS as part of its 1972 fall lineup.
